The TCU men’s golf team is set to compete in the Valero Texas Collegiate tournament starting Saturday at TPC San Antonio.
The three-day event marks the Horned Frogs’ second tournament of the fall season.
Coming off an eighth-place finish at the Sahalee Players Championship earlier this month, TCU looks to build on last year’s strong showing at this event. The Horned Frogs secured a second-place finish at 8-under par in the 2023 Valero Texas Collegiate.
The TCU lineup features Scott Roden, Joe Pagdin, Toby Wilt, Charlie Wylie and Jack Beauchamp. Aidan Dortch will compete as an individual. Beauchamp and Wilt played in last year’s tournament.
Senior Scott Roden led the team after an impressive collegiate debut at the Sahalee Players Championship on Sept. 8. He finished eighth at even-par 216 and scored a 4-under 68 in the second round with a hole-in-one.
Fifteen universities are to compete in the tournament, including top-ranked teams: No. 1 Auburn, No. 3 Oklahoma, No. 5 Virginia, No. 6 Vanderbilt and No. 10 Ole Miss
Play begins at 8 a.m. Saturday at the Oaks Course, a Greg Norman design that hosts the PGA Tour’s Valero Texas Open. The par-72 layout measures 7,100 yards.
Following this event, TCU will host the Ben Hogan Collegiate Invitational at Colonial Country Club from Sept. 30 to Oct. 1.
