A new Carter’s Coffee location has opened at the corner of Stanley and McPherson Avenue, offering both indoor seating and a drive-through option.
Carter’s Coffee began as a food truck in White Settlement, Texas, in 2019. It later moved to its first Fort Worth location at Stanley Avenue and West Cantey Street, where it became the first food truck in Fort Worth to feature a drive-through window, according to manager Madelyn Johnson.
The new Carter’s Coffee offers a cozy and welcoming environment, perfect for studying, relaxing, or spending time with friends.
Esther Allen, a junior majoring in economics, has been a loyal Carter’s customer since before the recent location change.
“I love the seating area they have inside now,” Allen said. “It’s great to have a comfortable place to do schoolwork, plus the coffee is fantastic.”
The new location opened in August 2024.
“Business has been great! I’m excited to see more people come inside to study,” Johnson said, noting that most of their traffic still comes through the drive-through.
Troy Kunkel, a TCU alumnus and former football player, is the current owner of Carter’s. The café continues to offer a TCU student discount and has introduced a new menu item: the “Super Frog purple sweet cream cold foam.”
Emma Weber, a first-year business marketing student, came across the Carter’s storefront while on a walk.
“It’s nice to have a study spot that’s still close to campus and not too crowded all the time,” Weber said. “The people who work in Carter’s always seem so happy to be there.”
Along with a delicious iced vanilla latte, she said she loves the doodles with which the baristas often adorn her cup.
Johnson said that Carter’s has now fully transitioned to its new brick-and-mortar, and the original truck will no longer be in use. “We never know what the future holds, but we are excited for the opportunity to expand in a multitude of ways.”
