The Hypnotoad may go down in history as the Horned Frogs’ wackiest hype video, but LaDainian Tomlinson’s dance moves are electrifying the Amon G. Carter Stadium this season.
“LT Style Electric Glide” features the former San Diego Chargers running back as he grooves and raps to a tune about his signature moves on the field.
The original “LT Style Electric Glide” video was produced by Nike in 2007 as part of a campaign to launch his signature shoes. It was released in 2010 while LaDainian Tomlinson played for the San Diego Chargers. It was an internet sensation and is still reposted by the NFL and other LaDainian Tomlinson fan accounts.

“A staff member came across this video last year and they decided to bring it to TCU football games,” said Julie Austin, senior associate athletics director, marketing, branding and licensing.
Austin said “We like to do a lot of bizarre videos,” referencing the school’s famous Hypnotoad and Willy Wonka edits that were played at previous football games.
She said the fans and students loved the dance, so they wanted to “take it to the next level” for the 2024 football season.
She reached out to Tomlinson requesting a remake of the iconic video with a modern TCU spin.
When it came time to film, Austin said her team went all out. Tomlinson brought the shoes from the original video. The team provided him with a new suit similar to the one from the original. They also recruited students and staff to film the updated video on TCU’s campus with Tomlinson.
The new video still has the original retro groove but now includes purple TCU graphics, students and staff. It is shown at football games and is a new crowd favorite.

“LT’s dance is one of my favorite parts of the game,” said Bella Le, a junior nursing student at TCU. “The song gets stuck in my head, I find myself singing it randomly throughout the week.”
LaDainian Tomlinson is a former NFL running back who also played for TCU from 1997 until 2000, when he was nominated for the Heisman trophy.
He was selected by the San Diego Chargers as the fifth overall pick in the 2001 NFL Draft.
During his nine seasons with the Chargers, he earned five Pro Bowl selections, three first-team All-Pro honors from the Associated Press and claimed two NFL rushing titles.
In 2006, he was named the NFL’s Most Valuable Player (MVP) after setting the record for most touchdowns in a single season.
He played two additional seasons with the New York Jets before retiring and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2017.
Tomlinson remains an active member of the TCU community by serving on the TCU Board of Trustees.
