One person was killed and several others were injured in a shooting near the Fort Worth Stockyards early Sunday morning, Fort Worth police said.
Fort Worth police responded to the incident around 3 a.m. when they found 18-year-old Joseph Steven Padilla dead at the scene.
The shooting, which occurred in a parking lot in the 100 block of NW 24th St., happened just one day after Padilla’s 18th birthday, according to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Injured victims were transported to local hospitals for medical treatment. An additional victim was taken to a hospital in a private vehicle.
All wounded victims are expected to survive, police said.
No arrests have been made, and police have not identified any suspects.
Homicide detectives are investigating the incident. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Fort Worth Police Department.
