TCU men’s golf heads to the Big 12 Match Play tournament Monday through Wednesday at Houston Oaks Country Club and Retreat in Hockley, Texas.
The Horned Frogs’ lineup features Toby Wilt, Jack Beauchamp, Ethan Dial, Charlie Wylie, Joe Pagdin and Scott Roden.
The three-day tournament begins with pool play for the first day and a half, followed by bracket play Tuesday afternoon. Finals are set for Wednesday morning.
TCU, seeded 12th, competes in Pool D alongside No. 4 Texas Tech, No. 5 Colorado and No. 13 Baylor. The Horned Frogs open against Colorado on Monday morning, face Texas Tech that afternoon and conclude pool play Tuesday morning against Baylor.
Each team match consists of five individual contests, with wins worth one point and ties earning half points. Teams receive three points for overall victories, while tied matches award one point to each team.
The 15-team field includes four newcomers to the Big 12: BYU, Cincinnati, Houston and UCF. Arizona State enters as the top seed, with Oklahoma State and Utah rounding out the top three.
Houston Oaks, a par-71 layout stretching 7,007 yards, opened in 2017. The course weaves through centuries-old oak trees, some over 200 years old.
The Frogs look to improve upon last year’s eighth-place finish. Their best showing came in 2022 when they placed third.
TCU opened fall season with an eighth-place finish at the Sahalee Players Championship and took ninth at the Valero Texas Collegiate on Sept. 23. Freshman Charlie Wylie led the team in their last outing at the Ben Hogan Collegiate Invitational at Colonial Country Club.
The Horned Frogs wrap up their fall schedule at the Ka’anapali Classic in Maui, Hawaii, Nov. 2-4.
