Extending its win streak to three, No. 22 TCU defeated No. 14 Baylor in four sets. TCU had the second-largest crowd in program history, with over 4,000 fans attending the ranked matchup. Outside hitter Melanie Parra led the team to outhit Baylor by nearly .100, with a .261 clip compared to Baylor’s .165. Parra racked up a 20-kill mark for the eighth time this season. Defensive specialist/ libero Alice Volpe hit a career-high with 17 digs. Parra, outside hitter Jalyn Gibson and setter Lily Nicholson all recorded double-doubles. In the second set of the match, Gibson and outside hitter Becca Kelley combined for 14 kills. At the beginning of the set, the Bears were forced to call a timeout after the Horned Frogs went on a 5-0 run. In the third set, the Horned Frogs and the Bears found themselves deadlocked. Parra took control of the net and put the Frogs ahead again with a kill and back-to-back blocks. Gibson and Kelley caught fire in the final set, combining for 12 out of the 20 kills. Towards the end of the game, Parra fired her twenty-fifth kill of the afternoon. The Horned Frogs are hoping to continue their winning streak as they take on ranked Utah, BYU and Texas Tech in the upcoming weeks.
