Marché Bleu, a French-inspired cafe and market, opened its doors in Clearfork on July 26.
After returning to campus this fall, TCU students discovered the new Marché Bleu.
Taylor Huang and Matt Thompson, founders of Marché Bleu, graduated from TCU in 2019.
Huang and Thompson participated in the BNSF Neeley Leadership Program at TCU and are now business partners living in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
“We wanted to create a spot where people could quickly grab a coffee or relax in a calming atmosphere to get some work done,” Huang said. “We absolutely love seeing TCU students come in and are excited to meet more of them.”
Marché Bleu features a range of everyday essentials, including snacks, coffee, wine, gourmet foods and grab-and-go options, catering to people’s needs for items not easily found in the area.
Grace Dominick, a junior marketing major, emphasized how Marché Bleu differs from other Fort Worth coffee shops.
“The aesthetic and cozy vibe here helps me concentrate on my schoolwork, offering a completely different experience from what I’d find at a place like Starbucks,” she said. “It allows me to escape the stress that studying on campus can sometimes bring.”
Marché Bleu has a distinctive menu that includes gourmet lunch options and a rotating selection of seasonal drinks.
“We chose the French theme after I visited France, where I was inspired by the charming corner street markets. I picture Marché Bleu as a cowgirl in Paris, perfectly capturing our café in Fort Worth,” Huang said.
With “patio season” around the corner, Marché Bleu is building a new outdoor space that will seat 30, providing more room for everyone to enjoy the beautiful weather.
“TCU prepared me to not be scared of trying something new,” Huang said. “With that mindset, I’ve turned my dreams into reality while gaining as much knowledge as possible along the way.”
