The Frogs showed out in their last home conference match of the fall season, sweeping in Most Outstanding Performer awards, with Lilly Goldstein winning in fences, Lex Lipacis in flat, Shea Graham in horsemanship and Kaylene Cunningham in reining.
TCU came out strong in fences, winning 3-2 with Goldstein scoring an event high of 85.5. Maggie Dumrauf came in close second at 84.5. Fences had the widest raw score margin of 378 – 313.50.
The Frogs continued to excel in reining. TCU Equestrian veterans Cunningham, Lannie-Jo Lisac and Graham continued to show their expertise, scoring 71.5, 70.5 and 71.25. Kylie Baker closed out reining with a score of 66.25 riding Boogie Man, her horse. The Frogs won the event 4-1.
In the flat event, however, the team faced a struggle. Laurel Smith and Lex Lipacis both started strong for the Frogs, outscoring their opponents 76-74 and 74-66.5. Unfortunately, the team fell short in the last three matches, losing with a raw score of 220-212 and falling 3-2.
The match ended with horsemanship, where the Frogs finished on a high note. Shea Graham, Sidney Dunham and Payton Boutelle scored for the Frogs, winning 3-2.
The competitors just edged out the Baylor Bears, winning 355.75- 355.5 in raw score.
TCU showed out as they beat the Bears in a 12-8 battle with a raw overall score of 1443.5-1364.5.
The Frogs are 2-0 in conference play and 3-0 at home. The last three matches of the fall season will be away. TCU takes on the 3-0 Fresno State Bulldogs Oct. 18 at the Student Horse Center in Fresno, California.
