TCU women’s tennis fell in the ITA Texas Regionals Tournament doubles finals after the Frogs held the top two seeds for the first time in program history.
The tournament, held at TCU’s Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center & Bartzen Varsity Courts, hosted every Division 1 program in Texas from Oct. 10-15, during which five Frogs appeared in both singles and doubles events.
In the doubles draw, TCU’s Jade Otway and Isabel Pascual came in as the top-seeded pairing, while Yu-Chin Tsai and Tomi Main entered as the No. 2. Otway and Pascual lost in a tight match to the Texas Tech Red Raider eighth seed in the semifinals.
On the other side of the bracket, Main and Tsai received a bye on the tournament’s first day before sweeping through four rounds of play. The two fell to the No. 8 seed in the final, the same Red Raider duo that upset TCU’s No. 1 doubles.

At last year’s 2023 ITA Regionals, Tsai came in at the No. 14 pair seed with her partner Helena Narmont. The duo made it through two matches before losing in the round of 16. Pascual also made her appearance in the previous year’s tournament with Destinee Martins as the No. 12 pair, making it all the way to the quarterfinals but losing out on the podium.
Moving to the 2024 ITA Regional singles, Isabel Pascual, Raquel Caballero Chica, Tomi Main, Jade Otway and Yu-Chin Tsai all competed in the main draw.
All Frogs except Jade Otway fell to their opponents within the first and second rounds of play. Otway blew through the first three matches before falling to UT Austin’s Ariana Anazagasty-Pursoo in the quarterfinals.
The Frogs compete again at Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center from Oct. 31 to Nov. 3 for the TCU Jae Foundation Invitational.
