The TCU women’s tennis team is hosting the Jae Fall Foundation Open from Oct. 31 to Nov. 3 at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center.
The foundation tournament has drawn defending national champion Texas A&M and 11 other schools that qualified for last year’s NCAA Tournament. Many participating teams are currently nationally ranked.
This tournament will raise money for the Jae Foundation, which brings awareness to mental health and suicide prevention after Jae Bing took his own life in 2016.
The foundation’s signature initiative, Jae’s Boots, honors Bing’s love of cowboy boots by encouraging people to purchase a pair for others while checking on their well-being.
The program has distributed more than $12,000 worth of boots and reached over 2,000 high school students.

TCU will field two players in the singles tournament: senior Helena Narmont and sophomore Raquel Caballero Chica.
This invitational marks the final competition before the NCAA Championship Individual qualifier in November.
The Horned Frogs will start off at the ITA Conference Masters, which takes place from Nov. 7-10. There will be a draw size of 32 singles and 32 doubles. The four single semifinalists and the top three doubles advance to the NCAA Championship.
This year, the NCAA Championship will be from Nov. 19-24 at Baylor University.
TCU currently has four players qualified for the ITA Conference Match. To secure an NCAA Championship spot, the team needs to have four singles semifinalists and place among the top three in doubles competition.
