Seniors Shayna Osborn and Sicily Shaw share their health journeys to inspire women on their paths to well-being through their podcast, “Continuously Refined,” which explores natural healing processes through functional medicine.
After facing ongoing health challenges, Osborn and Shaw connected, both having spent years seeking answers from doctors about the root causes of their issues.
Osborn and Shaw felt there was not enough information available or enough people who could relate to their experiences to connect with.
“That’s why we created our podcast – to share how we are continuously refining our life with others who are struggling to find solutions, too,” Shaw said.
Through the podcast, the women bring awareness to hormone imbalances, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), stomach issues and other health concerns that many individuals face.
“We have had to do a lot of research on our health problems and finding solutions for them,” Osborn said. “Sicily and I are both so passionate about this topic, as it is something we’ve had to transform our entire lives around for, and we want to share that with everyone.”
Osborn and Shaw have both turned to a holistic lifestyle, where they focus on their mind, body and soul. In their episodes, they highlight healthy mindsets, balanced diets, exercise and meditation that are all interconnected to this lifestyle.
Osborn’s favorite episode focuses on the importance of protein and whole foods in a diet, as it was the most significant change she had to make in her life. “I had to tune out what society suggests I should eat and focus on what’s best for my health,” Osborn said.
Updates are posted about their recent episodes on Instagram, as well as tips on how to live a clean and healthy lifestyle.
“Our overall goal is to bring awareness to health issues, share our journey and create a community of people who find that they don’t have to be alone,” Osborn said.
New episodes release bi-weekly on Wednesdays at noon on Spotify and Apple Podcast.
“We want to reach as many people as we can,” Shaw said. “We have already had so many women reach out to us regarding their journeys, and that has been so special.”
