TCU women’s basketball, now 4-0, prepares to continue their win streak against the Incarnate Word Cardinals on Thursday at 12 p.m.
The Frogs last played the Cardinals (3-2) on Nov. 15, 2023, when they secured a 61-55 win.
The Horned Frogs come into this match-up off a huge win against NC State, leading them to rank No. 19 in the AP Top 25 lists. This is the team’s highest ranking since 2008.
Hailey Van Lith comes off a career-defining moment with a recorded 18-point and 10 assists for a double-double for the first time in her career.
The Cardinals also had a dominant start to their season, winning their past two home games against Nelson University and Texas Lutheran. Some of their top shooters include Jorja Elliot, Myra Bell and Brynn Lusby, who average 7 points per game.
TCU’s top shooters Sedona Prince, Hailey Van Lith and Madison Connor each average between 15 to 20 points per game.
Incarnate Word will have to capitalize on any slip-ups the Frogs may have and up their shooting in order to be able to challenge the team.
Taking a look at last season’s game, TCU outscored Incarnate Word with a combined 44-15 margin in the first and third quarters. TCU has taken the win against the Cardinals the last five matchups and aims to extend the win streak not only against the Cardinals but in their overall record.
Based on the performance the Frogs showcased this past Sunday; TCU hopes to maintain their momentum and move to 5-0. The Horned Frogs continue to show just exactly who they are and what they have to offer, making a name for themselves this season.
