South Carolina’s athletic director Ray Tanner, who had been with the school since 2013, announced in September that he would be stepping down from the position and transitioning to a new role within the athletic department.
Donati has been vital for TCU’s athletic program, bringing in coaches to since-improved TCU sports. Recent coaching hires include women’s basketball head coach Mark Campbell in 2023 and volleyball head coach Jason Williams and baseball head coach Kirk Saarloos in 2021.
The athletic director also helped fundraise for big projects such as the $50 million Athletics Human Performance Center Renovation and the $113 million Legends Club & Suites.
