Today marks the 60th Presidential Inauguration for the 47th President of the United States, Donald J. Trump. He was sworn into office with his vice president, J.D. Vance earlier today. In today’s daily update, Sarah Smith dives into what to know about the historic day.
Public figures showed out for the inauguration, ranging from comedian Theo Von to Former President Barak Obama.
The main events of the inauguration took place inside the U.S. Capitol. Vice President J.D. Vance was sworn in first, followed by President Trump.
The Inaugural Parade was moved inside due to weather and took place at the Washington Capital One Arena following the inauguration ceremony. Tonight, three Inauguration Balls will take place around the D.C. area. These events are not open to the public.
Artists like country singers Parker McCollum and Jason Aldean, along with disco band The Village People and more are all set to perform at the balls. President Trump is expected to speak at each one.
