TCU’s latest dining option, East End Dining, located in Gutierrez Hall behind the Neeley School of Business, opened Monday to long lines as students, faculty and staff wanted to try the food.
The early reviews put the new space ahead of dining at King Family Commons and Market Square in the Brown-Lupton University Union.

“I love this dining hall, but the only problem I’ve seen so far was the lines were super long, which made it inconvenient to get food,” Annie Stagg, a sophomore, said. Stagg said getting food at Market Square is a lot faster.
East End Dining adds to student dining options and helps re-center them from the Stadium Drive corridor.
TCU’s growing student enrollment is putting pressure on campus dining halls. Market Square, the main dining hall, opened in 2008. It was built to serve up to seven million meals, a number that has since at least doubled.
It also was built to accommodate students with food restrictions.
“I really recommend the new dining hall,” Ariana Olson, another TCU student, said. “They had lots of variety, and it’s a lot better than the BLUU because it seems more healthy and more open, not like the BLUU where it’s dark and gross.”

East End Dining has a capacity of 550 people. The cafeteria is open Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Saturday through Sunday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Market Square’s hours are longer than the East End Dining Hall, operating Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to midnight, and Saturday through Sunday, 8 a.m. to midnight.
The new East End Dining at Gutierrez Hall accepts all meal plans, but the Create Your Own Block Plan for commuters and the Frog Pass Limited 50 are only accepted at East End and Market Square.
