The TCU Club Hockey team starts its Texas Collegiate Hockey Conference playoff run in Mansfield, Texas, this weekend.
The team plays its first playoff game on Friday, Feb. 7, at 7 p.m. against East Texas Baptist University at the Star Center.
Led by captains Aidan Casey and Thomas Budreck, TCU Club Hockey finished the regular season with 10 wins, four losses and four overtime losses.
Forward Jack Gustafson leads the team in points with 32. He scores above an average of 2 points per game. Starting goalie Bradin Haynie ended the regular season strong with a 7-2-2 record and only allowed 46 goals during the regular season.
Aiden Casey became the all-time school leader with 70 points in 44 games dating across four years on the team, writing himself into the TCU hockey history books.
In 18 games, TCU earned a total of 24 points, tied with two other schools with fewer total games played.
“The team showed a lot of character, a lot of heart and came together at the right times,” said head coach Michael Donovan.
Donovan said he wants the team to stay focused and treat every game the same, regardless of who is on the other side of the ice.
A Horned Frog win on Friday will place the team back at the Star Center on Saturday, Feb. 8 at 4 p.m.
