TCU will host the Education Networking Fair on Tuesday, Feb. 11, in the Brown-Lupton University Union Ballroom. The Education Networking Fair is an opportunity for students from all majors to meet with recruiters for several school districts in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
Employers from 25 different schools and independent school districts (ISDs) from across North Texas and out of state, selected based on student interest, will attend the fair. They will look to recruit new teachers of all types, including core curriculum, music, physical education, substitute teachers and special education.
“This event allows our students and alumni to meet and network with top employers in the education field to learn about career options and make professional connections,” Celeste Lindell, the assistant director of employer development, said.
School districts are always looking to hire new teachers with a wide range of expertise. During the 2023-2024 school year, school districts provided steady full and part-time jobs for 384,642 people, according to a demographic report from Texas.gov.
While the fair is targeted toward education majors or students on an education-related career track, all students are welcome to attend the event and learn about job opportunities in the industry.

“Each employer has unique hiring needs, however recruiters are generally looking to create a pipeline for full time roles and generate interest for roles like substitute teachers,” Lindell said.
It is recommended that students who are interested in attending and speaking with recruiters prepare by updating their resumes, dressing professionally and practicing interview questions before the day of the event.
TCU offers multiple resources to help students prepare for professional interviews and recruiting events through the TCU Career Center, Lindell said. Using the resources offered by TCU can help students present themselves in a professional manner and leave a positive impression on employers as they prepare to enter professional roles.
