Trump announces tariffs on steel and aluminum imports
Despite previously agreeing to a 30-day hold on tariffs with Canada and Mexico, President Trump announced Sunday that all steel and aluminum imports coming into the U.S. will face a 25% tariff.
“If they charge us, we charge them,” Trump said.
Countries including Canada and Mexico will be subjected to the 25% steel and aluminum tariff, according to the Associated Press. The announcement led to a rise in steel company shares ahead of the stock market’s opening on Monday morning, reported by the AP

Trump sued by former head of the Office of Special Counsel
Hampton Dellinger, former head of the Office of Special Counsel, sued President Trump Monday for wrongful termination, according to Associated Press.
The Office of Special Counsel is a federal agency responsible for enforcing laws and protecting federal employees in situations including whistleblowing, according to Associated Press.
Dellinger was fired via email on Friday as the president continues to targets federal employees in government agencies, according to the Associated Press.

Trump orders firing of U.S. Military academy board members
President Trump ordered the removal of military academy board members, citing concerns over “woke agendas,” according to Politico.
“Our Service Academies have been infiltrated by Woke Leftist Ideologues over the last four years,” Trump wrote on social media, Politico reported.
Board members of the Navy, Army, Coast Guard and Air Force academies have been dismissed, though their replacements have not yet been announced.
Military academy boards consist of both presidential and congressional appointees. In 2021, the Biden administration ordered the firing of board members appointed in Trump’s first term as president.
Trump plans to relocate Palestinians if the U.S. takes control of Gaza strip

President Trump aims to rebuild the Gaza strip but will relocate displaced Palestinians, according to CNN.
Onboard Air Force One, President Trump said to reporters that the destroyed area of the Gaza strip is a “big real estate site,” CNN reports.
The United Nations estimates that 90% of Palestinians living in the Gaza strip lost their homes during the war between Israel and Hamas, CNN reports.
