A TCU criminal justice associate professor was escorted off campus earlier this month after a student called TCU Police and reported he appeared intoxicated.
Michael Bachmann, an associate professor at the time, was escorted off campus at 10:30 a.m. on Feb. 3, according to a TCU Police Department offense report.
TCU Police Department officers were dispatched to Scharbauer Hall after receiving a student complaint that Bachmann was intoxicated, according to the TCU PD report.
“We are aware of the incident,” a TCU spokesperson said. “TCU does not comment on personnel matters. His classes have been reassigned.”
Since the incident, Bachmann has been removed from the criminal justice faculty and staff page.

His profile remained on the TCU urban studies faculty page. Urban studies is an interdisciplinary minor offered through the AddRan College of Liberal Arts.
“His research spans all facets of the intersection of high technology and the law, ranging from computer hacker subcultures and ethics to the facilitation of crime investigations through geospatial mapping applications,” the faculty page said.
In 2015, TCU published Bachmann in a YouTube video series titled “Doers, Dreamers, Trailblazers.”

On a popular website, Rate my Professor, Bachmann received polarized reviews from past students.
“This class is hard because of the content but Dr. Bachmann is very helpful if you go seek help. People drop this class because it’s hard but if you listen and pay attention you will be fine,” one student said in Sept. 2024.
Another student took to the website and said, “LOVE Dr. Bachmann as a person, but class is just plain hard.”
