Trump to sign order making English the official U.S. language
President Donald Trump plans to sign an executive order making English the official language of the United States, according to NBCDFW.
The order would rescind former President Bill Clinton’s directive for federal funding recipients to offer services to those who don’t have much English proficiency. More than half of U.S. states have already made English their official language, but the federal government has never declared English as the official language.
A White House source did not specify when Trump is expected to sign the order, according to NBCDFW.
