With spring break 2025 coming up, hot spot locations are preparing to host a multitude of university students in search of sunshine, parties and adventure.
Cancun: international party destination
Cancun, Mexico, known for its vibrant nightlife and beautiful beaches, is set to have a packed Spring Break calendar. Popular destinations like Mandala Beach Club are preparing to accommodate all guests who wish to attend their business.
“We’re ready to deliver unforgettable experiences in a safe and secure environment for our guests,” Jorge Ruiz, a manager at Mandala Beach Club, said. “It’s a competitive market out here, every business in Cancun gets customers year-round but nothing compares to the crowds that we get during Spring Break. Hypothetically speaking, if we were to close the whole year and only be open during the Spring Break dates, we would be set for the year. In all honesty we would.”
South Padre Island: a Texas treasure for Spring Breakers
South Padre Island, Texas, a top destination in the Texas state, is preparing for busy weeks filled with beach parties and events. Hotels like the Isla Grand Beach Resort are expecting high occupancy throughout the month.
“With more students traveling this year, we’re making sure our staff is ready to meet the demand,” Ellary Bunch, manager at Isla Grand, said.
Isla Grand Beach Resort lives up to its name by hosting multiple events.
“Beginning on March 7, we begin to host our spring break day pool parties with live DJs and fun for the whole family,” Bunch said. “The purpose of our resort is that we are their one-stop place for all spring break needs, we wish to keep all guests here and hope everyone involved has fun. We know that Airbnbs are very strict to what you can or cannot do so we wish to deter the students away from that and onto our resort.”
Staying on campus or going back home: relaxation “to the max”
TCU student Gia Covella plans to stay on campus for Spring Break, using the time to relax, catch up on studies and enjoy the quieter campus atmosphere without the usual crowds.
“I’m from Fort Worth so I’ll be here on campus and go home for a couple of days but other than that not much going on this spring break,” Covella said. “I kinda do have ‘FOMO’ but oh well, I doubt I’ll miss much plus I personally am not trying to come back to classes sick like a lot of people may do.”
