When the 28-3 TCU Horned Frogs took the court on Friday for their NCAA tournament opener, they received a standing ovation from the 6,500 fans in attendance at Ed and Rae Schollmaier Arena.
This season has been a pleasant surprise for TCU fans. This is the first time in 15 years that TCU women’s basketball team has been in the NCAA Tournament and the first tournament win since 2006.

“All of the games have been fun to watch, and going undefeated at home has been an amazing accomplishment,” TCU alum John Demby said. “I have been a fan since 1987, and this is the most enjoyable basketball season I can remember.”
The Frogs have received a lot of support from the fans, which has helped them throughout the season and their 21-0 record at home.
“We have created one of the best home court advantages in college basketball, and we use the crowd to our advantage,” head coach Mark Campbell said.
TCU women’s basketball team broke the school attendance record early this season on Jan. 14, 2025, against UCF and against Fairleigh Dickinson on Friday. TCU recorded the fourth-highest attendance in program history. Coach Campbell said he looks forward to seeing if TCU fans can break the record tomorrow to help TCU reach their first Sweet 16 in program history.
“I grew up going to see TCU games my whole life, and my family always had season tickets when I was a kid, but I have never enjoyed watching a team as much as I have this year, and I look forward to watching this team some more,” said Horned Frog fan Katelyn Demby.
TCU women’s basketball is set to face No. 7 Louisville in the round of 32 at 5 p.m. CT on ESPN at Ed and Rae Schollmaier arena.
