TCU women’s basketball’s historic season ended with a 58-47 loss against No. 1 seed Texas in the Elite 8.
After getting off to a slow first-quarter start, eight of their 21 turnovers came in the first quarter.
“Texas played a phenomenal game,” head coach Mark Campbell said. “They made us uncomfortable and kept us out of rhythm the whole game.”
The game was 29-29 with 4:55 in the third quarter when Texas went on a 13-4 run to end the third quarter, building a 42-33 lead into the fourth.
Texas then went on to build a 53-39 lead with 5:42 left in the fourth quarter. TCU fell down to 47-53 with 2:42 left in the fourth quarter after a Deasia Merrill layup.

TCU’s 21 turnovers led to 21 points for Texas, while Texas only had eight turnovers for six TCU points.
Horned Frogs Hailey Van Lith, Madison Conner and Sedona Prince had a slow night, only combining for 30 points. TCU shot 12-45 (26.7%) from the field and 4-20 from three compared to Texas 24-61 (39.3%) from the field and 2-3 from the arc.
Mark Campbell said this season was unlike anything we imagined, and he credits Seniors Hailey Van Lith, Sedona Prince, Madison Conner, and Agnes Emma-Nnopu for their contributions this year and for building something for the future of TCU women’s basketball.
TCU finishes this season with a 34-4 record, a Big 12 regular season and tournament championship and an Elite 8 appearance.
