TheCrew is known for providing entertainment, but students who are involved in coordinating events know it as a place where they can develop planning skills.
TheCrew offers students a chance to develop essential skills while making a lasting impact on campus life.
“Our goal is to cultivate community, share kindness, and just to let students come out and have fun,” Dheyaa AlJumaili, a first-year biology major, said.
From small social gatherings to large-scale campus events, theCrew members work tirelessly to create experiences that enrich the TCU community.
Open to new members year-round, theCrew is responsible for organizing over 100 events each year.
“We aim to provide at least two events every week,” AlJumaili said.
Members participate in arranging events and assume responsibilities. They manage a budget, make strategic decision and team build.

One recent event was a scaled-down circus that featured a balloon artist, and a Capuchin monkey named Timi. AlJumaili described the process of planning this event as challenging, but later said it was rewarding when he saw it all come together.
The most exciting aspects of being a part of theCrew is the hands-on leadership experience it offers, said AlJumaili. Members are given the opportunity to collaborate with peers, create and lead events, and manage projects from start to finish. TheCrew helps students develop invaluable skills that prepare them for success in any career path.
Beyond the practical skills, theCrew fosters a strong sense of community among not only its members, but among all students.
“They create a sort of community at TCU, bringing students together and fostering connections that make everyone feel included,” Geurin Pettus, a first-year business major, said.
No matter the size of the event, theCrew provides an environment where students can grow, challenge themselves, and make an impact.
For those interested in joining, theCrew meets every Monday at 8 p.m. in the Beck & Green Conference Room.
