Coming back from spring break, it is common for students to struggle with academic burnout. But, theCrew at TCU is working to help combat the stress that comes with the final weeks of the semester.
On March 26, theCrew at TCU hosted a Wellness Wednesday event to encourage self-care in hopes of easing the transition back into academic routines.
“We knew that after spring break, people are just coming off relaxation, and they could honestly get a little bit stressed because we only do have a month of school left,” Rachael Rivas, the wellness event leader, said.
Held at the University Recreation Center, the event featured an array of wellness-focused activities for students to enjoy, including free massages.
TheCrew also provided free lip masks, eye patches and hand lotion along with fresh fruit, infused water and eye mask shaped cookies.
Students could also enter a raffle to win larger wellness items such as an essential oil diffuser.
According to The University of the People, the most important part of treating academic burnout is recognizing the symptoms such as irritability, exhaustion and a lack of motivation.
If you are experiencing these feelings, they also provide many ways to help you recover, including creating reasonable goals, going outside and taking a walk, avoiding procrastination and setting aside time for breaks and fun activities.
As the semester winds down and final exams approach, remember these tips and look out for more events from theCrew for well-being support.
