No. 1 TCU beach volleyball continued its dominant run over the weekend, notching four wins at the Wildcat Spring Challenge.
This included a pair of critical Big 12 victories over No. 12 Arizona State and Arizona. The Horned Frogs extended their win streak to 17 matches, improving to 19-3 on the season.
Saturday’s showdown against Arizona State proved to be a tightly contested battle. The Sun Devils opened strong with a three-set win on court five, but TCU quickly responded as Ana Vergara and Anhelina Khmil took court four in straight sets, boosting their undefeated streak to 10-0 this season.
The Frogs then pulled ahead with Hailey Hamlett and Daniela Alvarez grinding out a three-set win on the top court. Allanis Navas and Sofia Izuzquiza sealed the team victory on court three with a comeback triumph, marking Navas’ 100th career win. Arizona State salvaged court two, but TCU sealed the 3-2 win.

Later in the day, TCU faced host Arizona and once again found themselves behind early, dropping court three in straight sets. Just like the morning session, though, the Frogs rallied.
Navas and Izuzquiza evened the match with a commanding performance on court two. Khmil, now paired with Morgan Williams, put TCU in front by winning in straight sets, a match that marked the 75th career win for Khmil.

Alvarez and Hamlett, continuing to show exceptional chemistry, clinched the dual with a clean sweep on court one, extending their undefeated partnership to 6-0 this year. The final duo of Hallie Corinne Frist and Elea Beutel added one more point with a gritty three-set win on court five, solidifying a 4-1 team victory in the match-up.
Pocketing the four new wins, TCU’s top-ranked squad now shifts its focus to the upcoming Center of Effort Challenge in San Luis Obispo, California, where they’re set face No. 12 Arizona State again in what promises to be another high-stakes matchup.
