Greenland military base chief fired for ‘undermining’ Vance
Col Susannah Meyers, head of Pituffik Space Base in Greenland, has been fired. U.S. military’s Space Operations Command said the actions have been taken due to a “loss of confidence in her ability to lead.” Col Meyers termination comes following an email she sent distancing herself from Vice President JD Vance’s criticism of Denmark’s spending on security. Col Meyers actions were seen as “undermining” of U.S. leadership by a Pentagon spokesman who went on to say such things would not be tolerated, according to BBC News.
