On April 9, TCU Campus Recreation & Wellness Promotion hosted its annual wellness fair in the academic commons. This event is a part of TCU Week of Service, which takes place every semester, and leads up to TCU Day of Service.
“The wellness fair is just to promote health and wellness throughout campus,” Natile Pelan, the assistant director of campus wellness, said. “We invite a variety of on-campus organizations, and then new this year, we have off-campus organizations as well.”
Organizations such as theCrew, Student Affairs, Her Campus, Religious & Spiritual Life, Frog Life and Substance Use & Recovery Services had tables at the fair.
Local gyms and spas were also at the wellness fair to promote their businesses and see what services they can offer to TCU students, Pelan said.
At the fair, students were able to participate in various wellness activities, such as tote bag painting, spinning a wellness trivia wheel, creating glitter jars and walking through a labyrinth.
Besides wellness, there was also a focus on mental health. QR codes were displayed throughout the fair for students to connect with TCU’s counseling and mental health centers.
Whether it is physical wellness, mental health support or finding a moment of serenity, the wellness fair was all about promoting ways for students to take care of themselves as they prepare for the end of the year.
