Wide receiver Savion Williams is officially a Green Bay Packer. He was selected in the third round of the 2025 NFL draft at pick No. 87.
He was the second TCU player picked in this year’s draft. Horned Frog WR Jack Bech went to the Las Vegas Raiders in the second round.
At this year’s NFL combine, he ran a 4.48-second 40-yard dash and scouts said he would contribute in the NFL as a kick returner, but hopefully will develop to replace current Packers WR Christian Watson.
A dynamic and versatile wide receiver, Williams had back-to-back career-best seasons in 2023 and 2024, earning multiple honors including an invitation to the 2025 Senior Bowl and a spot on Bruce Feldman’s Freaks List.
In 2024, he posted 60 catches for 611 yards and six receiving touchdowns, while also adding six rushing scores and a passing TD — becoming the first Horned Frog since 2017 to achieve that trio in a single season.
Known for clutch plays and versatility, he led the team in rushing over the final stretch and had standout performances against Arizona, Texas Tech and Stanford. His 2023 campaign included 573 receiving yards and four touchdowns, highlighted by an 11-catch, 164-yard game against Texas.
A former quarterback in high school, he brings athleticism, football IQ and playmaking ability to every facet of the game.
