TCU beach volleyball edged No. 2 seed Arizona State, 3-2, to capture the first-ever Big 12 Beach Volleyball Championship Friday at home.
The Horned Frogs finished the tournament with a 9-2 overall match record, helping TCU set a school record for Big 12 championships in a single season with four championships across sports: Women’s soccer, women’s basketball and men’s tennis.
With three more wins this weekend, TCU closed out its fifth consecutive undefeated home season and extended its home winning streak to 64 matches.
Maria Gonzalez and Hailey Hamlett earned Pair of the Tournament honors after clinching the championship for the Frogs. With the match tied 2-2, the duo delivered a thrilling three-set victory on Court Two, 21-11, 13-21, 28-26, to secure the title.
Hamlett has now contributed to three conference titles for TCU: the 2023 CCSA title with Sutton MacTavish, the 2024 Conference USA championship with Anhelina Khmil, and the 2025 Big 12 crown with Gonzalez.
Gonzalez and Hamlett were also named to the Big 12 All-Tournament Team, along with Khmil and Ana Vergara. The No. 4 pair, Khmil and Vergara, continued their dominant season by pushing their undefeated streak to 18 matches.
