TCU scored ten unanswered runs to beat Kansas 11-1.
The Jayhawks got on the board in the first inning with a RBI single from Dariel Osoria that brought home Derek Cerda.
After this point, it will all be TCU. The Horned Frogs responded in the second inning and put up a crooked number. Chase Brunson got the scoring started by bringing in Noah Franco.
Anthony Silva would follow this up with a single up the middle to score Brunson from second. Jack Bell would cap the inning off with a two-run double to bring in Silva and Brody Green, giving TCU a 4-1 lead.
The Horned Frogs would continue their onslaught in the next inning as Cole Cramer hit a sacrifice fly to center field to bring home Sawyer Strosnider, making the lead 5-1.
TCU would blow the game open in the eighth inning. To start off the scoring, Brunson would score on a wild pitch while Nolan Traeger and Silva would move into scoring position.
Isaac Cadena would bring home Traeger with a single, and Silva would make it to third. This gave TCU a 7-1 advantage. Bell would terrorize Kansas again, lacing a triple into right field to score Cadena, Silva and Sam Myers. TCU’s lead became 9-1.
Cramer would end the game with a score of 11-1 as he singled home Bell.
The TCU pitching was also great, as right-hander Mason Brassfield would start the game. He went three innings while allowing one run on a pair of hits, striking out five hitters and only walking two.
Louis Rodriguez was the star for the pitching staff as he picked up the win and finished off the game, going five innings of scoreless baseball. In those five innings of work, he allowed three hits with one walk and struck out four.
Bell led the way for the bats as he had three hits out of the leadoff spot and drove in a team-high five runs. Brunson also had three hits along with one RBI.
