Commuters now have a new option for their meal plan needs at TCU.
In addition to the regular purple and silver meal plans, a new block meal plan designed to give students more flexibility is now available.
The block plan lets students choose how many swipes they want for the semester and comes with Dining Dollars. The options include block 10, block 25 or block 50.
Some students view the block plan as a better and more welcoming option.

“I really wanted meal swipes that take me to the dining halls,” said Karla Fuentes Maldonado, a senior psychology and social work double major. “And the block plan made that an option.”
The new option provides students with more affordable choices through the block plan structure.
“You get unlimited access to the dining halls with each swipe,” Maldonado said.
For students like Devereaux Knight, a junior political science major, the block plan offers easier and more flexible options that fit his schedule as a commuter.
“The regular meal plans have no flexibility,” Knight said. “If you have someone that’s on campus for five days, there’s no point in getting the seven-meal plan.”
With this new option, commuters now have more control over their spending and a wider range of choices. The block plan offers an adjustment for students seeking a more affordable and convenient option without a large commitment.
To purchase a meal plan, students can log in to myTCU, select the Commuter Meal Plan tile and choose whichever option fits their needs.
