TCU Family Weekend 2025 will take place Sept. 12- 14, and the Fort Worth area is expected to be active with visiting families and alumni. On Saturday, Sept. 13, Texas Christian University will host Abilene Christian University at Amon G. Carter Stadium, with kickoff set for 7 p.m. The evening game gives families plenty of time to explore local attractions during their visit.
Here are five of many Fort Worth experiences available to families during their visit.

1) The Fort Worth Stockyards
The Fort Worth Stockyards showcases Texas culture through Western-themed restaurants, retail shops and rodeo events. On Thursday, Sept. 11, at 7:30 p.m., the Cowtown Coliseum will host the Stockyards Championship Rodeo, with events such as tie-down roping, barrel racing and bull riding. The Stockyards also features daily cattle drives at 11:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

2) Eatzi’s Market & Bakery
Eatzi’s Market and Bakery, located in University Park Village on South University Drive, offers a mix of ready-to-eat options in a European-style setting. The market includes a sandwich bar, fresh sushi, custom salads and hot entrées. It is open daily from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. and offers outdoor patio seating.
3) TCU Parent & Family Programs Tailgate
The annual TCU Family Tailgate will take place outside of the Amon G. Carter Stadium on Saturday from 3:30 t0 6:30 p.m. The event brings together students, families and alumni for an afternoon of food and activities before the game.
The tailgate includes a catered buffet, non-alcoholic beverages, lawn games, a photo booth and live music from the Bran Thompson Band.

Tickets for the event are currently sold out. A buy/sell board will be available during ticket pickup on Friday, Sept. 12, from 2 to 6 p.m. in the BLUU Auditorium. Families who no longer need their tailgate tickets can post them for resale, and those still looking to attend may find availability through this informal exchange.
4) The Clearfork Farmers Market
The Clearfork Farmers Market, located on the Trinity Trails, offers produce, meats, baked goods and handcrafted items from more than 30 local vendors. Open from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, the market also features live music and open-air shopping.
5) The Fort Worth Zoo

The Fort Worth Zoo is home to more than 540 species in naturalistic habitats, including the newly opened “Predators of Asia and Africa” exhibit. Located at 1989 Colonial Parkway, the zoo is a close drive from campus.
Zoo hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends. Daily activities include animal encounters, giraffe feeding, stage shows and keeper chats.
From rodeos to live music and outdoor markets, Fort Worth offers a wide range of attractions for families attending TCU Family Weekend from Sept. 12 to 14.
