TCU students looking for off-campus housing will have more options near the eastern edge of campus, with the Village East Apartments adding 15 more units for the 2026–27 school year, said property manager Lindsey Heaton
The new units will include 30 beds, assigned parking spots for residents and a leasing office on the property at 2700 Lubbock Ave., Heaton said. Village East, designed for student living, will also convert its current leasing office at 2737 Merida Ave. into an additional unit.

“The development will include Village East’s property management office, making it one of the few, if not the only, housing developments in the area to have on-site property management,” said Natalie Foster, the communications specialist for the city of Fort Worth.
To keep a consistent design with the surrounding properties approved by the city council, the property was rezoned from a medium-density multifamily area to an urban residential area, Foster said.

The rezoning application was posted in May. The developers secured support from the University Place Homeowners association and TCU Facilities and Campus Planning, said Dave McCorquodale, a senior planner with the City of Fort Worth.
Six single-family homes were demolished to create the 0.43-acre site located in the Frisco Heights neighborhood, McCorquodale said.
Julia Vanoli, a senior speech-language pathology major who has lived in Village East for the past two years, said the construction around the area makes driving more difficult, but the location is worth it.
“One of the reasons I picked Village East is because it’s close to campus, so I can walk to class,” Vanoli said.
