After improving to 2-0, the Frogs look to continue their win streak at home this week, against the Southern Methodist University Mustangs in the last Iron Skillet game for the foreseeable future, Saturday morning.
The Frogs are coming off a 42-21 win over the Abilene Christian University Wildcats, where quarterback Josh Hoover threw for 337 yards and four touchdowns, along with wide receiver Ed Small catching two touchdowns in the win, with Small receiving honors as the Big 12 Freshman of the Week. TCU saw five different players score in the win. The Frogs will look to continue their offensive attack against the Mustangs this week.
The Mustangs are coming off a win at Missouri State University, 28-10, and have a 2-1 record on the year, with their one loss coming to Baylor University at home in an overtime thriller, 48-45. Quarterback Kevin Jennings is the returning starter for SMU after winning the job last season. Jennings has thrown for 836 yards and six touchdowns through three games this year for the Mustangs.

Hoover and the Frogs are looking for a better result than last year after traveling to SMU and losing in a shootout, 42-66.
This will be the final time TCU and SMU will face off in the foreseeable future after former athletic director Jeremiah Donati indefinitely paused the series in 2023. There hasn’t been an announcement for the series to continue.
This will be the 104th time TCU and SMU have faced off, with the first meeting being in 1915, where the Frogs won 43-0. TCU leads the all-time series with a record of 53-43-7.
The game is on Saturday, Sept. 20, with kickoff at 11 a.m. The game will be on ESPN, and tickets are still available for purchase on gofrogs.com.
