This year’s annual fall concert, one of TCU’s biggest student traditions, has gone country.
Country music artist Wyatt Flores will headline the Friday, Sept. 26, concert, which will be held on the Kelly Center Lawn. Gates open at 6 p.m., and the first of two opening acts is expected to take the stage at 7 p.m.
Immediately following the concert, screens behind the stage will air the TCU vs. Arizona State football game, according to SGA President and senior political science major Reagan Stephens.
Flores, a Stillwater, Oklahoma, native, is best known for his songs “Please Don’t Go” and “Losing Sleep.”
The concert, which will include food trucks from local vendors, is one of the top annual traditions put on by SGA and one of its largest investments.
This year, SGA spent close to $300,000, or nearly a third of its budget. Student leaders said the investment is worth it, pointing to the thousands of students who attend each year and the memories created.
SGA representatives said they pivoted toward a country artist in hopes of highlighting a genre that resonates with many Horned Frogs. Flores, who has quickly built a loyal following through his storytelling and high-energy performances, fit the bill almost perfectly for this year’s concert, Stephens said.
Admission is free for students, but they are required to bring their TCU student ID. Each student is also allowed to bring one non-TCU guest.
In past years, the fall concert has drawn crowds of 2,000 to 4,000 people, Stephens said.

“Some of the best moments at TCU happen at events like this,” Stephens said. “In my almost four years here, the fall concerts have always been some of my favorite memories and something that TCU students always look forward to.”
Student leaders are encouraging students to arrive early to grab a good spot, bring friends and get ready for an evening that will blend TCU spirit, live music and Friday night lights.
