Firings are happening in ‘one to two’ because of the government shutdown
Federal employees are at risk of being fired by the Trump administration due to the government shutdown, according to NBC News. This information was given by budget chief, Russell Vought and later confirmed by Vice President JD Vance.
Vance told the media that the administration would not target federal workers “based on politics.” If the government doesn’t open by next week, the Women Infants and Children (WIC) nutrition program will likely run out of money. Twice in the past 24 hours, the Senate voted against funding offers from the Republican and Democratic parties.
Chimney collapses 20 stories down at a housing tower in New York City
A brick chimney on a New York City building plummeted from 20 stories high after an explosion, with huge amounts of debris on the ground, according to ABC News.
Nobody was harmed during the collapse of this chimney. At about 8 a.m., authorities were alerted of an explosion and tried to see if there was a gas leak. Department of Buildings Commissioner James Oddo thinks the boiler was being worked on.
Bronx Borough President Vanessa Gibson told the news that major disaster was avoided.
Browns QB Joe Flacco is being benched as rookie Dillon Gabriel will start next game

Dillon Gabriel, rookie quarterback for the Cleveland Browns, will get his first career start against the Minnesota Vikings this coming Sunday in London, according to AP News.
With the Browns starting this season 1-3, head coach Kevin Stefanski felt it was time for a change. This will be the Browns’ fifth starting QB in the last 10 games.
Flacco told the media that he doesn’t think another quarterback switch will happen. Sheduer Sanders will stay at the third string QB position with Flacco taking the second-string position.
