The TCU offense couldn’t find its rhythm until late in the third quarter, resulting in a 41-28 loss to Kansas State.
Quarterback Josh Hoover passed for 377 yards with three touchdowns. However, he had trouble with turnovers, with a fumble and a pair of interceptions. With six interceptions for him on the year, Hoover leads the Big 12 conference.
Top receiver Eric McAlister was quiet in the first half with just one catch for seven yards. However, the second half is when he exploded with three catches for 149 yards and two touchdowns.
TCU was able to get its running game going with Kevorian Barnes totaling 81 yards on 12 carries with an average of 6.8 yards per carry.
The Kansas State defense had a field day as they forced three turnovers and scored two defensive touchdowns.

The first touchdown came right before the half on a swing pass to Ed Small that went backward and was returned by a defender for a touchdown.
The second one came in early in the third quarter with TCU trailing by seven. Hoover would throw a pick-six to linebacker Desmond Purnell that would give Kansas State a 14-point lead.
Purnell made his presence known again with his second interception to put the game away.
Kansas State quarterback Avery Johnson played a great game with over 200 total yards and three passing touchdowns without a turnover. He played a clean game that kept the TCU defense on its back foot for most of the game.
His top target was tight end Garrett Oakley, who hauled in four passes for 71 yards and two scores. Joe Jackson would run wild on the ground with 110 yards.
Kansas State won the turnover battle 3-0. The Horned Frogs will look to clean this up when they play Baylor at home on Oct. 18 at 11 a.m. The game will be on ESPN2.
