As the number of TCU students attending classes continues to grow, CorePower Yoga, a popular yoga and fitness chain, plans to open a new Fort Worth location near the end of 2025.
With the new location on Camp Bowie, CorePower aims to expand its business and continue serving as a healthy and relaxing outlet for its members.
Many students are active members and instructors at CorePower, valuing both the physical benefits and mental stability the practice brings to their busy college routines.
Some believe that the strong student following reflects more than just a fitness trend. Many students describe their experiences as addictive due to the variety of benefits that come with taking classes.

“I go to CorePower about four or five days a week,” Macie Calvert, a senior on the pre-law track, said. “I keep going back because I can sense that I am getting better, using heavier weights and getting the flows down quicker. Also, the sweat is addicting. I actually walk out of class feeling like I did something.”
Students also said that CorePower’s appeal stems from how easily it fits into their daily schedules.
“They have so many different times available every day,” Emma Johnson, a senior dietetics major, said. “Whether I want to go early before class or at night after work, I have plenty of options throughout the day.”
When trying to balance the challenges of academics, social life and mental well-being, students turn to CorePower.
“The class is a total stress release,” Calvert said. “It completely clears my mind, and that is mostly why I do it.”
While students have opportunities to build community on campus, they enjoy expanding social circles through outside organizations like CorePower.
“I think it’s a second little community for TCU,” Hayden Schell, a senior biology major, said.
Calvert shared a similar opinion, saying, “It has honestly become my social hour. If I don’t go with friends, I am super likely to see someone I know and sit next to them in class.”
