New York City schools sue US education officials
According to AP News, New York City schools sued the federal education officials over a decision that would discontinue a promised grant of $47 million that supports transgender students.
The agency led by Education Secretary Linda McMahon cut the funding without notice after deciding that policies that let transgender students play sports or use the bathroom that matches their gender identity violate Title IX.
Former national security adviser indicted

A federal grand jury indicted John Bolton, the former national security adviser on 18 counts of retained and transmitted national defense information, according to NBC News.
He is accused of sharing top secret information using personal accounts and keeping the documentation in his house. Bolton can face a maximum of 10 years in prison on each count if convicted.
Ancient lead may have helped humans evolve
According to ABC News, a new study by an international research team found that early lead exposure may have helped Homo sapiens evolve over Neanderthals.
The researches found that 73% of the 51 fossilized hominid teeth, including Homo sapiens, Neanderthals and other extinct Homo species, had signs of lead exposure. They found that Homo sapiens had reacted better to the lead than Neanderthals suggesting that lead exposure impacted social and behavioral functions helping modern humans develop survival advantages.
Alaska Airlines flight crew members allegedly assaulted by woman

A passenger aboard an Alaska Airlines flight from Portland to Dallas was arrested after allegedly assaulting two flight attendants, forcing the plane to divert to Boise, Idaho, according to CBS News.
The 61-year-old woman, Tracy Barkhimer, is charged with two counts of misdemeanor battery. She posted a $600 bond, and the airline has banned her from any future flights.
