TCU has all focus set on the Iowa State Cyclones after their bye week.
The Frogs were able to rest up this past week after traveling to West Virginia and taking down the Mountaineers, 23-17. Quarterback Josh Hoover threw for 247 yards and a score with wide receiver Eric McAlister having nine receptions for 124 yards and a score. Running back Trent Battle took over the backfield rushing for 89 yards and a score as well.
Kaleb Elarms-Orr had 16 tackles and he currently leads the Big-12 in total tackles. Kicker Nate McCashland came up big for the Frogs as he had three field goals against the Mountaineers and was named Big-12 special teams player of the week.
The Frogs are now 6-2 on the year and 3-2 in Big-12 play with four games to go as well as now being bowl eligible. TCU sits in the middle of the standings of the Big-12 with having played one game less than the teams ahead of them. BYU currently sits at the top of the conference being the only Big-12 team to remain undefeated.
Iowa State is 5-4 on the year and 2-4 in Big-12 play. Iowa State was undefeated and ranked before they played Cincinnati but has since lost four straight after being upset, losing to Cincinnati, Colorado, BYU and Arizona State.
The Cyclones are headlined by quarterback Rocco Becht who has thrown for 2,119 yards and 11 touchdowns on the year. Becht was a part of Iowa State’s team that made an appearance in the Big-12 championship game last year. Iowa State has had a 100-yard rusher in their past three games between running backs Carson Hansen and Abu Sama III.
This the 15th meeting between the Frogs and the Cyclones as TCU is 9-6 all-time against Iowa State. The Frogs lost the last meeting in 2023 when TCU traveled to Ames, Iowa.
The Frogs will face off at home this time against the Cyclones on Saturday, Nov. 8, with kickoff at 2:30 p.m. The game will be on FOX, and tickets are still available for purchase on gofrogs.com.
