The Frogs couldn’t find their rhythm against the Cougars, losing 13-44 for their first loss against BYU since 2007.
BYU started the game off strong, leading 10-0 at the end of the first quarter, where the Frogs found themselves punting twice, with one of them being for a three-and-out. The Frogs were only able to account for 37 total yards of offense during the first quarter.
The Frogs finally got on the board after kicker Nate McCashland made a 22-yard field goal to make the game 3-17. The BYU offense continued to dominate, scoring on every possession in the first half.
TCU was able to score their only touchdown of the game in the second quarter when running back Jon Denman scored his first career touchdown for the Frogs, cutting the lead to 10-24. BYU was able to drive down and hit a field goal to close the half, putting the Cougars up 27-10.

The Frogs started off the second half much better than the first, with McCashland able to connect on a 33-yard field goal, making it 13-27.
BYU responded with a field goal of their own and did not let off the brakes after that. BYU didn’t have their first punt of the game until 10:35 was left in the fourth quarter, which would be their only punt of the game.
The Frogs showed signs of life on defense when defensive back Avery Helm recovered a fumble, the Frogs’ only turnover of the game.
TCU couldn’t ever find their rhythm on offense as BYU was able to get two interceptions, with one of them being returned for a touchdown, making the game 13-44.
Despite the offensive struggles, wide receiver Eric McAlister had 107 receiving yards on four receptions.
The loss brings the Frogs to 6-4 on the year and 3-4 in Big-12 play. TCU is now tenth in the Big 12 and will look to rise in the standings.
TCU has two more games on their schedule, with next week on Nov. 22 being at Houston and rounding out the year at home against Cincinnati on Nov. 29.
