TCU beat No. 10 NC State on their first first-ranked non-conference road win since 2011.
The Frogs threw the first punch on Sunday, going on a 12-2 run to make the game 15-5 at the start of the first quarter. NC State responded with an 8-0 run to end the first quarter.
The Wolfpack would continue their run throughout the second quarter, building a 31-26 lead with 3:07 left in the second quarter.
After a TV timeout in the second quarter, Marta Suarez made two threes during a 10-0 run to close the first half.
TCU went into the second half with a 36-31 lead, which was extended during the third quarter.
The Horned Frogs shot 8-14 from the field and 3-6 from three and held NC State to shoot 3-15 from the field and 1-4 from three during the third quarter, extending the TCU lead to 16 to start the fourth quarter.
TCU held on to the lead throughout the fourth quarter to beat NC State 69-59. The Frogs ended NC State’s home winning streak at 24 games with the win.
Suarez led TCU in scoring with 26 points, shooting 10-18 from the field and 4-8 from three. Olivia Miles had another double-double with 15 points and 14 rebounds. Clara Silva also had a double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds marking the first time two Frogs had a double-double in the same game since last year against NC State.
TCU will be back at the Schollmaier on Thursday when they take on Tarelton State at 6:30 p.m. The game will be streamed on ESPN+.
