Mass shooting leaves four dead and 11 wounded in Stockton, California

Authorities in Stockton, California are searching for the suspect who killed 4 people and wounded 11 others after attacking a birthday party at a banquet hall Saturday night, according to AP News.
San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Heather Brent, said early indications suggest the attack “may have been a targeted incident.” The victims who died ranged in ages from eight to 21, Brent said.
District Attorney Ron Freitas has urged the public to come forward with information as the suspected shooter has not yet been identified.
Man arrested for indicating a bomb threat in his TikTok video
Mohammad Alokozay, an Afghan national, was arrested on Tuesday Nov. 25 after posting a video on TikTok containing terroristic threats, according to WFAA.
According to the Department of Homeland Security, Alokozay indicated that he was building a bomb he intended to use in the Fort Worth area.
Department of Homeland Security Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin, said in a post on X that Alokozay entered the United States in 2022 under the Biden administration’s Operation Allies Welcome, which resettled more than 76,000 Afghan refugees, according to a Seattle Times report.
McLaughlin stated that there is no clear connection between Alokozay’s arrest and the shooting of two National Guard members in Washington D.C. that occurred one day later. Rahmanullah Lakanwal, the 29-year-old Afghan national who was arrested in relation to the shooting, entered the U.S. through the same asylum initiative as Alokozay.
United States and Ukraine expect progress to come from peace talks in Florida

Officials from the United States and Ukraine met in Hallandale Beach, Florida on Sunday to continue negotiations of peace framework regarding Ukraine’s war with Russia, according to Reuters.
U.S. officials stated that more progress is expected in the coming days before the U.S. delegation travels to Moscow later this week. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said, “It is about securing Ukraine’s future, a future that we hope will be more prosperous than it’s ever been.”
Rustem Umerov, the Ukrainian delegation’s new leader after the previous chief negotiators resignation and corruption scandal, expressed his gratitude by opening the meeting saying, “U.S. is hearing us, U.S. is supporting us, U.S. is walking beside us.”
Indonesia still searching for at least 400 people after deadly floods

Rare heavy rains from tropical storm Senyar caused massive floods, landslides and widespread destruction across Sumatra, according to the BBC.
The death toll has risen to more that 440 people, the Indonesian government said. At least 400 people are still missing, many of which officials believe to be buried under landslides.
Nearly a week after the storm, several villages remain inaccessible and some have not received any aid, according to an AFP report. Aid has been delivered by air and sea, but officials have still reported looting in some isolated parts of the region.
The BBC reported that tech giant Elon Musk said he would provide free Starlink services to areas in need of emergency communication.
The storm has affected millions across south-east Asia, leaving more than 900 people dead across Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines, Sri Lanka and Indonesia, according to the BBC.
