Tickets are sold out for the upcoming Horned Frog football game against rival Baylor at Amon G. Carter Stadium.

As of Wednesday, the only option for non-student fans who had not purchased tickets for Saturday's game was to purchase standing room tickets for $15. The last sellout at Amon G. Carter Stadium was against Utah last November with a crowd of 50,307.

Current students only need to show their valid student ID for admittance to the game.

Unless you've been living under a rock for the past few days, you have probably heard about the controversy surrounding Ines Sainz, a female sports reporter for Mexico's Azteca television network. Last Saturday, Sainz entered the New York Jets locker room before their season opener against the Baltimore Ravens and waited to interview Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez. While waiting, she was the subject of catcalls, jokes and lewd remarks from some of the players, largely because of her attire 8212; tight-fitting jeans and a tight white blouse.

Two North Texas men have been accused of stealing computers and musical instruments from campus valued at more than $100,000 after TCU Police said one of the items was spotted on the Craigslist website.

Umair Khan, 24, of 900 Mulder Drive in Arlington, and Azim Ansari, 21, of 3609 Mackenzie Lane in Richardson, were each charged with two counts of theft, according to documents from the Tarrant County District Clerk's office.

After spending her summer teaching preschoolers at The da Vinci School in Dallas, senior early childhood education major Libby Franks said she knew she had chosen the right major. Franks was one of 75 college students selected to take part in local internships paid for by the Exxon Mobil Community Summer Jobs Program last summer. According to the Exxon Mobil website, the selected full-time undergraduate students get eight weeks of real-world experience in community organizations while working during busy summer months.

It's great when I'm able to get through to people. When I'm able to show someone that trade is actually a good thing or how the minimum wage can hurt the poor, I know I've made a difference.

It stills pains me, however, to read articles like the one in the Skiff Tuesday that begins with "The university bookstore showed its support for ethical business practices by beginning to offer products from a new clothing line committed to a humanitarian effort."

The economy. Healthcare. Unemployment. Obesity. One of these things is not like the other 8212; or so it seems.

For one reason or another, pressing issues in the United States are placed into what seem to be organized compartments. Consequently, any form of correlation is thrown to the wind and different groups must fend for themselves.

In the case of obesity, it will only be so long until ignoring correlation leads to an undeniable causation.

Scharbauer Hall and Mary Wright Admission Center are LEED-certified

Seventy two projects are registered for LEED-certification and 13 are certified in Tarrant County, a number that has significantly risen from only a couple in the area, said a panelist in Wednesday's discussion about LEED projects on campus.

The two LEED-certified buildings on campus are Scharbauer Hall and the Mary Wright Admission Center.

Moderator for the panel discussion Amanda Childress-Kannan said Scharbauer Hall is gold-certified, and the admission center is still in the certification process.

Mark Doyle, who covers American politics for The Economist, said he left his headquarters in London to learn more about reporting on the U.S. He arrived in Washington, D.C. in July to begin reporting on the congressional elections.

After a record-setting 2009 campaign in which the volleyball team made its first-ever NCAA tournament appearance, a returning player said the team goal is to prove last season was not a fluke.

"Our goal would be to prove to everyone that last year wasn't just a one-time thing," junior setter Megan Munce said. "It's something that we can do consistently and that we hope to do."

Head coach Prentice Lewis said she feels the team will work hard to achieve its goals.

In the first 48 hours after it launched, more than one million users had opened accounts on Ping.

Ping, a social networking service built into Apple iTunes, was introduced last week, along with several other new and updated products.

Tim Halperin, a May 2010 TCU graduate, said he has used social networking sites to promote his music. His songs are available for download on iTunes, however, he is not considered an artist on Ping.

After a fire alarm went off at the GrandMarc apartment complex on Sept. 7 and residents left their rooms, two residents said they contemplated whether or not to take the alert seriously because of false alarms in past semesters.

GrandMarc resident and economics major Benjamin Chinchilla said he lived in the south tower of the GrandMarc since last fall and said he did not evacuate that night because of previous false alarms.
