President Barack Obama has seen a four-point upswing in his approval rating since his speech ending combat missions in Iraq, according to CNN.com. Fifty-one percent of Americans now approve of the job Obama is doing in office.

For the economy, however, Obama has received a new low approval rating according to the CNN/Opinion Research Corporation Survey. Just less than five in 10 Americans now trust that Barack Obama can revive the economy.

The TCU women's soccer team kept their non-conference schedule rolling this weekend with a 2-2 tie in double overtime against the University of Houston and a 4-3 win over Northwestern State University.

The TCU football team will have to continually prove themselves to receive recognition on a national level, even after the team's performance against Oregon State on Saturday, Horned Frog head football coach Gary Patterson said.

"No matter what we do and how we do it, we're always having to prove ourselves," Patterson said. "That's okay with us."

Quarterback Andy Dalton said he thinks the national spotlight and national attention for TCU will pick up after Saturday's game.

Gov. Rick Perry has nothing to gain and everything to lose by participating in an October debate with opponent Bill White, which was why he has declined to do so, according to one political science professor.

Residents of Milton Daniel Hall and students of the John V. Roach Honors College have the opportunity to win $1,000 in the college's first-ever film competition.
