Women’s basketball claims longest home win streak in MWC

The TCU Lady Frogs extended their record-breaking home win streak by defeating the Brigham Young Cougars 64-40 Wednesday night.

TCU has won 18 straight games in the Daniel-Meyer Coliseum, which is the longest home win streak in the MWC. Their last home loss was against BYU last season.



The game began with the Cougars' effective press offense. BYU hit two early three-pointers and demonstrated its effectiveness in converting field goals into points.

Women’s club volleyball readies for first tournament

The women's club volleyball team will host its first tournament this weekend at the University Recreation Center.

The tournament is the divisional round of the Southern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association and will determine what teams make it to the finals. TCU is hosting the North division of SIVA, which includes teams from Baylor, Texas Tech, Southern Methodist and Oklahoma State.

I'd like to again respond to Michael Lauck's column, this time called "Corporations and unions should have voice heard through ads." Like FOX News, he seems to be light on facts and heavy on pointless rhetoric. At issue here is that he characterizes liberals as the ones trying to expand government to stomp on free speech. Yet he fails to see just how bipartisan this issue really is. Starpoint engineering group wins two trophies for robotics

The Starpoint Pavers, an engineering group at Starpoint School, took home two top trophies in its first robotics competition.

Sherry Oliver, a technology instructor at the school and the group's supervisor, said she got the idea for a robotics team from a conference she attended the previous year. After presenting the idea to Starpoint, the school received two grants worth about $750 each from the College of Science and Engineering and the Andrews Institute, Oliver said.
