Flyin’ Frogs head to invitational before season start

The Flyin' Frogs will head to College Station for the Texas A&M Invitational on Friday and Saturday, the last meet before the Mountain West Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships later this month.

Head coach Darryl Anderson said athletes headlining the event include junior Jessica Young, senior Kishelle Paul, senior Jessica Clarke and junior Neidra Covington for the women and sophomore Mychal Dungey, sophomore Sean Zurko, junior Dell Guy and sophomore Matthew Love on the men's side.

Tennis team to play Oklahoma this weekend

The No. 34-ranked men's tennis team will pack its bags and head to Norman to face the University of Oklahoma on Saturday.

Dave Borelli, the team's head coach, said the Sooners retooled this year and are probably better than they were last season.



"Even though they are only No. 73, I actually think they are a top-30 team," he said.



Borelli said he doesn't care as much about rankings as he does a team's overall performance.

Dining Services removes peanut butter crackers after recall

Dining services employees pulled peanut butter sandwich crackers off the shelf at Bistro Burnett on Wednesday morning because of a previous recall on the crackers issued by Kellogg Co., a university official said.

Frank Horak, manager of retail units for Dining Services said he took the Austin brand crackers off the shelf as a precaution after someone phoned in the tip.



"I called the Bistro and said, 'There seems to be a problem,'" Horak said. "I had them take the crackers off the shelf just to be safe."

New RIAA policy shifts responsibilities to universities

The No.7-ranked equestrian team, in the middle of a three-match winning streak, will head to Fresno, Calif. for the Best in the West Tournament this weekend.

They will compete against teams from South Dakota State University, the University of Tennessee at Martin and Fresno State University, the tournament's host.



Head coach Gary Reynolds said he is looking forward to the tournament because both the English and Western teams have been riding at a high level.

More than 500 students and alumni will receive reimbursements from the university-provided health insurer Aetna after New York Attorney General Andrew Cuomo found that the claims system had not been receiving the frequent updates it needed.

The reimbursements for the 517 TCU students and health care providers will total more than $34,000, but this amount represents a small portion of the total claims for the university, said Marilyn Hallam, coordinator of the Brown-Lupton Health Center office.
