In efforts to create a more environmentally friendly campus, I voted for Wyatt Goolsby's resolution to reduce paper towel usage on campus. This simple, single-lined resolution seemed harmless and was written for a good cause. In efforts to "reduce, reuse and recycle," the resolution addresses the fact that many of us recycle and reuse, but we forget to reduce our use. Goolsby called for the support of the Student Government Association to hang friendly signs on paper towel dispensers to remind students to reduce usage of paper towels.

Although we do not have a winner in the Student Government Association presidential race yet, it is not too early to look toward the future of the SGA. Judging by the fewer than 2,000 students casting votes in Tuesday's election, one of the main focuses of SGA this year should be educating the student body about its activities.

Through the use of public forums, letters to the editor and sidewalk fliers, SGA needs to work on getting its message out.

The Fall season of Theatre TCU is coming to an end, and what better way is there to do so than with a "bang?" George S. Kauffman and Moss Hart's 1930's classic "You Can't Take it With You," which opens Nov. 15, does just that.

The show was sold out after two days and there have been requests for more performances.

The English department publishes a lengthy document with long descriptions for each spring 2006 class."Modern Fiction," for example, receives a 222-word treatment detailing the books read, the themes discussed and the work expected.

But the TCU Course Catalog gives the same class a mere 41-word synopsis. Ten out of 10 students agree: The more informed the choice a student could make about a class, the better.

Talia Sampson, in the Aug. 29 edition of the Skiff, said, "Adding one more week to the add date would greatly benefit the students."
