It was an afternoon of home runs and big cheers for the Frogs as the team went 3-0 in their opening series against Sam Houston State.

This weekend's crowd was the largest three-game series in Lupton Stadium, with 8,803 fans in the stands over the course of the weekend.

The men's club lacrosse team has been preparing for its weekend tilt with conference rival Texas Tech with one thing on its mind: revenge.

An opening night record-breaking 3,228 fans filled the Lupton Stadium Friday night to cheer the No. 11 Frogs on to a win over Sam Houston State.

The Frogs finished the game 4-0, but junior pitcher Trent Appleby said the team isn't getting too excited yet.

"It's nice to get the first win, but we still have two more games, they're a good team and we gotta finish the series out," he said.

After falling to No. 6 Baylor on the road at the beginning of the month, the No. 40 Horned Frogs (3-1) are looking ahead to their home opener against the No. 41 Texas Tech Red Raiders (5-1).

It has been more than two weeks since the team last competed, and although time has passed since the Horned Frogs last contended with an opponent, the team is optimistic.

"We are feeling pretty good and positive," junior Christopher Price said. "We've practiced really hard and have had some good wins."
